EmeryAllen Turtle Bulbs are approved for use in areas requiring artificial lighting adjacent to ecologically sensitive areas, sea turtle nesting beaches, migratory corridors, and Dark Sky Friendly communities.

Turtle Bulb LEDs have an amber color for safer illumination. Per the Florida Wildlife Commission, bulbs must be installed in a shielded or downward directed location that shield the light source from being directly or indirectly visible from the nesting beach.

Its long life (25,000hrs = >10x standard bulbs) is ideal for bath lights, pendants, ceiling fixtures, chandeliers, and outdoor lighting applications.

Dimming Disclaimer: The 12V and 120V lines of EmeryAllen Turtle Bulbs are all non-dimmable. They are suitable for On/Off applications only.

1 review for PAR16 3.0W Amber

  1. Jim G (verified owner)

We have two dual-bulb and one single-bulb exterior floodlights. They previously had 10.5W, 650 lumen, 2700K LED bulbs, which when we installed them years ago seemed like a nice reduction in light output because the previous ones seemed obnoxiously bright. Eventually our 10.5 W bulbs seemed too bright, too, so we chose to replace them with Emery Allen PAR 16 3.0W amber bulbs.

We first bought a single bulb for the single-bulb fixture, just to see if we would like it. The bulb seemed like it was borderline too dim, but we still had 10.5W bulbs in the other floodlights, so we weren’t so much seeing how well the new bulb worked as we were directly comparing it to the existing fixtures. We decided the 3.0W amber bulbs were worth trying so we bought 4 more so all our floodlight bulbs would be the same. The result is really nice. The amber light is relaxing compared to the harshness of the previous bulbs, and they put out plenty of light to see what you’re doing and keep an eye on the dogs. If for some reason we need more light, we can turn on a porch light, which is standard white…for now.
